Mole Photography
Mole Photography, or Total Body Skin Photography, is a visual tool for self-skin exams. It is most beneficial for those who either have skin cancer, or have significant risk factors for the development of skin cancer. Currently, Dr. Asiniwasis offers two options to her existing patients:
Standard Skin Photography - to be used as a tool at home for self skin exams. Dr. Asiniwasis will use standard positioning and lighting for mole/lesion photography with a professional grade digital camera to take mole photos of all areas of the body excluding genital areas. We then will develop high resolution photos confidentially on site with a professional grade photo printer to create a set of labelled coloured photos as well as a USB key with digital photos that we will provide to you as a take home copy for east of self-skin exams at home.
3D Intelligent Total Body Skin Photography (using DermEngine technology) - to be used as a tool in-clinic only for trained specialist use when you present to clinic for full skin exams. This is intelligent mapping system software using a series of photographs that is plotted onto a 3D model and used to compare skin lesions/moles both far away and up close during your in-clinic visits. We are able to use this to compare any changes. Click on the button below for a link to DermEngine resources that explain the process.
